Virtual Basket Weaving!

Friday we had a very special event via the Tanberg with all of our friends in the TLC project... we had a virtual basket weaving session with Pam Cunningham, a Penobscot basket weaver!

Here are our buddies on Matinicus waiting for the session to start!

And look... it is Isle Au Haut, Cliff, Islesford, and Anne!!!

The boys got to sit in the comfort of their own classroom and participate in a group discussion about basket weaving.

Here is Pam reading a book called "Many Hands" that talks about the many hands that it takes to make baskets! It is really incredible how much time and work goes into these gorgeous baskets!

Showing us the brown ash strips she uses to make many of her baskets.

Then she began working on a basket while answering questions from the group.

We had to leave the session early to catch a boat for our field trip but we really loved having the opportunity to meet, talk, and learn from Pam!
