Self Portraits - Version 2.0

I have said it before, and I will say it again... I LOVE art class at our school... why? Because it results in activities like this...

I mean in what other art class would your teacher tell you to make a photocopy of your face?!!?

Our amazing art teacher Donna came in with an assignment last week... create a self portrait! BUT she did not want just ANY self portrait... she wanted the kids to create one that really captured the essence of who they were (inside and out).

She encouraged us to get creative and have fun... and suggested using all different kinds of media... so obviously we all needed to try out the copier technique.

Yep. This pretty much captures the essence of me!

Donna's turn.

Dalton... the serious, boring one... got right to work on his self portrait! He decided to draw a picture of his hand holding his most prized possession... HIS IPOD!

But even he could not resist the temptation of the copier!

After all of our copier fun... we got right to work on the drawings.

Quinn started sketching a portrait as himself as an elf. Perfect.

Figuring out how to draw his forehead!!

Dalton's piece in progress.

The final product.

And Quinn as an elf! I don't think he has ever looked better!! :)
